I'm reminded of Terry Bisson's "Partial People" and the mandrakes in _Harry Potter_ but "Monoculture" is neither impersonal nor silly. I also like the shape of it, and of course the puns. Very sharp. I really dig those word-spades, with plenty of rich humus dished out for my pita head.
