Beautiful poem. I love the ideas embedded in it, the almost visceral awareness of the stones.
It reminded me of the Art of Bill Dan. (He creates balanced towers of rocks that look as though the rocks rose of their own volition and started to escape into the sky, held down only by their contact with the next rock. http://www.rock-on-rock-on.com/gallery-pick.html)

This is the best I've seen here in a while. Powerful images, musical, and with emotional impact. Deserves at least several reads.

I had been saving my read of SH till late in the week to ease my house moving stress. What a joy awaited me.
This is a truly wonderful poem. Measured and evocative with a sense of nature magic perhaps remeniscent of the late Ted Hughes.
This is one to treasure

Whoo! I know this one has been lying around for a while, but I just read it and I think it's great. I like poems that don't equivocate, and this one shouts its declarations. Great!
