Very funny; I like the reference I think I see to traveling gnomes as portrayed in movies. Sad that no one tries to buy them in parking lots.

I loved this poem. The funny and surreal juxtaposition of all the kitsch elements, topped off by the flying saucers...
The parallel world of the National Enqurer.

It reminded me of that movie Amelie... and how she steals her father's gnome, then keeps sending back pictures of the gnome against various exotic backdrops. Apparently, in France, there really *is* an organization for liberating garden gnomes.

How about the Travelocity commercials? (I think it's Travelocity...)

Loved it. Loved the premise, loved the language. Stuff like this reminds me why I read poetry.

Actually, stuff like this is why I read *Strange Horizons* poetry. I find myself going to the poetry section first.
