Very nice. Very haunting. A perfect story for a chilly October day.

It was all right. I certainly don't get a "haunting" feeling. It seems to me that some of the prose in the story felt forced, causing me to think about the writing of it rather than it, itself.

Then again, I'm certainly not the target audience for this kind of story: deer hunting and defeatism and all. Felt like the character did very little the whole time but react to his surroundings, and that's personally not my bag.
