Vivid and imaginative; a neat story. I like how the fantastic was treated as if it were the norm. The setting is beautifully evoked.

A call-of-the-wild story .. my favorite kind. And the things we give up for parenthood. Not to mention werebears.
Nice, very nice.

I've written a review of Walking Hibernation, which you can read here: http://www.journalscape.com/sfreviews/2004-10-05-11:41/ if you're interested. In summary: there was a lot of great stuff in the story, but it didn't totally hang together for me.

I thought I would mention, in case anybody is interested, that my collection of poetry (not speculative, but still good, I promise) is now available: The Glaze from Breaking (Stride, 2005).
