How bad are submissions to SH that they have to re-print stories from 1988?

I'm not going to respond to the implicit insults in that post, but in case anyone other than the anonymous poster is wondering about reprints:
Strange Horizons publishes reprinted fiction regularly. We've always published at least three reprints a year; we'll probably publish more in the future. It gives us a chance to showcase older stories that we think deserve attention, especially stories that haven't appeared in print in some years. Hope y'all enjoy them!

How cool is it that SH got the rights to reprint a neat, dark story from a Hugo & Nebula Award winning author?

Yes I enjoyed this story. Actually I've been thinking about the subject of reprints since I brought it up on the previous reprinted story (can't remember what that was).
For us new writers, trying to get our first story in print, I now see that the SH policy of a few reprints over each year is a very good idea. Part of the attraction to me submitting stories to SH (apart from electronic submission which is brilliant), is that it is a reputable, professional magazine, and thus worth being printed in. Judicioius use of reprints of class authors (and incidentally, printing of first time stories from established writers, such as Jasper, Liz Williams, etc) all helps add to the publications kudos (cudos? ... no, Kudos).
Overall, although I'm sure the editors are just falling over themselves waiting for my opinion, now that I've been following and reading SH for two to three months, I think you have the 'mix' pretty well right.
Anyway, normally an enjoyable read ...

I confess that when I saw that this was a reprint, I also wondered (reflexively, involuntarily) if something hadn't gone wrong this week. Did they run out of money? Did an author miss her revision deadline? Perhaps the way to head off that impression is to provide a short editorial note at the beginning of each reprint that explains why SH chose to pluck this story from the past and reprint it -- what makes it special? This becomes a form of curatorship, and contributes to forming SH's editorial image. You could even brand the reprints as a series -- "Editor's Choice!" or somesuch.

I thought it was a great story and I'd like to see more like it from SH in the future.
The only thing I'd change is the title, but then, I doubt everyone ever agrees on titles.
