This story is a blast.

Can anyone tell me what the Hofstadter reference is referring to? I haven't actually read his work.

Thanks!

I hadn't either but Google yielded this and it looks relevant.

Glad you both liked the story!

Hofstadter has written about recursion and such in a lot of places, but his best-known book (and a lot of people's introduction to that kind of material) is Gödel, Escher, Bach. Among other things, the book explores self-reference, recursion, and metafiction.

...Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for the story's narrator?
