Lovely writing, and a powerful environmental message. But the story feels somehow incomplete to me. It's hard to tell whether the protagonist has undergone any real transformation/maturation; for the most part we just get a tour of this intriguing, sad world. The story left me wanting more.

Hmm. I agree about the writing, but I must admit these tours of depressing dystopias don't do much for me, and perhaps coincidentally, we seem to have had several of them of late.

I really enjoyed this piece. Lovely writing, and I do enjoy this type of story. Not cheerful, but I it feels very realistic to me.
