Yay! I love love love the beautiful combinations of words and phrasings in this story. It's fun to read it aloud and really taste the words in your mouth. Thanks Lisa!

This story is amazing. The magic that Lisa can make out of words, the visualizations...awesome. As someone who has sat in New Orleans and knew the magic of her...this story is perfect!!

I loved the imagery. So descriptive. Left me wanting more.

I loved this - I read it a while ago and thought it was one of the best treatments on NO & NY - brilliant. Great imagery and able to deal with the trauma bluntly without being insensitive. Rock on! ;) *shahea*

It's not pretty, but then neither is your topic. I think you told the story in a most interesting and creative manner.
And believe it or not, I didn't "get" who the guy was until the end. Either I'm dense or I just went with the flow and let your story take me wherever it wanted. ;)

I love it - it is dark and sexy and magnetic. Like a hot, humid, southern night - where you drowned in the sounds of the night

I love this story! You have and amazing way with words, Lisa. Your words provoke such strong mental imagery. I can't wait to read your next story!

Finally I get to read this one, having missed the snippet you shared for not long enough for me to read (meanie!). I'm jealous of your rhythms, lady.

And I loved the line between what you chose to say and what you chose to hold close. Subtley, bless you. Makes me smile into the night.

your work oozes both sensuality and sensuousness. i feel as though i could paint my walls with your words or spread them on toast. thick, raw, and perfect.
