your story is wonderful, sass! poignant, beautiful, clean. i've been wishing ever since i read it that i had written this phrase: "...coming home at twilight tired and mute with wildness." makes me want to weep and laugh -- that is an ache i have felt in myself, but had no words for.

I loved this story even more than I loved "Liberty Pipe". The whole situation seemed very self contained and consistent. I particularly liked that the rules of this world were simple and obvious, unlike some writing where the exotic is portrayed by means of bewildering rules. As other reviewers have noted, there is a nice turn of phrase and good description. I liked the pacing too.

Thanks, all.
I think many parents wonder, at some point, whether their children are actually their children.

This is one of the best reads I've had in a while. Mezmerizing! I actually registered at this site just to comment on this piece. Inspiring! Truly.
This is just how I envision crow people. And yes, I do envision them often. It's possibly my favorite subject, and I'm actually not being sarcastic.
Anyways, as the others said; good pacing, clean, simple and quite beautiful. Wonderful material for say a short film.
Good luck with your writing!
