Short and vaguely scented with ginger. Wonderful! I will read the rest of the series with great enjoyment.

How cool. But I feel I'm going to be sorry there are only 12 months in a year.

I've always wondered what it was like to be a dog... this story is a Cynic's dream come true.
But I didn't really take it that seriously. Just a whimsical little piece.

I must be dense b/c it didn't really seem like there was much of a story. The life as a dog bit was interesting but Hsien seemed only mildly bothered by the question 'what happened to the dog's soul?'
I guess it just didn't have enough conflict to draw me in.
