Interesting choice for a column. I believe this is the most original version of the boundaries of genre and whethere we should have such boundaries at all. I'm one of those weird people in the genre who likes my "walls". I like having an idea of what I'm getting into. But I don't have walls between SF/F or Urban Fantasy & Dark Fantasy or whatever. I enjoy speculative fiction, under most of its guises. I don't like particular stories, but I find I do prefer speculative fiction over literary works, and that is where my wall exists.
I liked this column and look forward to more from Mr. Cheney.
