The article, while interesting, focussed on America. Lexx was also shown on the Sci Fi Channel and Channel 5 in the UK (who also funded at least one series), and at one point there was a campaign for Sci Fi Europe to make a series when it looked like Sci Fi America would discontinue the programme. Lexx also influenced Dr Who - a number of episodes seemed to either be based on, or contain elements of, earlier Lexx episodes.

Lexx was a really great show, though I've always felt that it never lived up to the promise of the pilot episode/movie "I Worship His Shadow," which was frightening, bizarre, nihilistic and hilarious all at once. At times the show descended to the level of softcore porn. It really was an odd bird...

Consequently the spin-off projects that have helped keep up the profile of many other old series have been absent in Lexx's case, despite innumerable rumors. There were never any plans for a continuation of the series in comic book, television, or feature film form, as so many of the fans believed, and apparently still believe to judge by what's being written on the message boards.
This isn't entirely true. There WERE plans to do a comic-book continuation of the show. It was to be written by Brian Downey and Jeff Hirschfield, and illustrated by me.
The project was announced to the fandom at large at Dragon*Con 2003, where Brian and Jeff mentioned the early-stage plans for the comic during their Lexx panel. Unfortunately, the plans fell apart completely early in 2004 when the cast parted ways with their Con-Manager, who was going to help publish the book.
As such, the plans for a comic were fact, not rumor.
You can see the promo images I created for the project at my website: http://corvusonline.net/
Other than me taking issue with that particular section, the article was excellent!
