I think it would be interesting if you ran artist commentary with each painting/drawing, so we can get an idea what was going through the artist's head when he/she worked on it.

Wow. Lovely lovely lovely. Thank you for sharing these beautiful pieces with us! I too think it would be fun to read a commentary regarding each piece.
If the artist is inclined to reply...Carole, were you influenced by the work of Dave McKean at all? Your work seems more feminine, but still reminiscent.

Thanks very much for your comments! (All feedback welcome).
I was not that familiar with Dave McKean's work, but I've just been looking at some, and it's very interesting. I really like the spontaneous feel of it, and also the fact that it seems to be very painterly in approach.
I do think the explanation with the pictures thing is a good idea, but this is a bit of a hotly debated subject as many artists think that the work (no matter how obscure) should speak entirely for itself. I don't mind either way - after all it's up to me what I choose to explain and what I don't!
