From our inception, Strange Horizons has been committed to paying pro rates for all fiction, poetry, and illustrations, every week, without exception, but it's the outpouring of community support that truly makes this such a special place! Without you, we wouldn't have attracted nearly the attention that we have—not from the SFWA, or the Hugo committee, or all the talented authors and artists who continue to trust us with their work. Our semi-annual fund drives continue to be an important source of funding for us, but of course, your donations are welcome any time! Everyone who donates $50 or more—no matter what time of year—has their choice of an exclusive, not-sold-in-stores Strange Horizons mug or T-shirt.
You may earmark your donation to be used for a specific purpose, ie: compensation for authors and artists, or assisting our publicity efforts. Or you may simply choose to give generally, to be used as needed..
