April 2004 Fund Drive
Here at Strange Horizons, we consider our readers
to be an important part of the magazine. Every week for three and a half
years, we've brought you some of the best speculative fiction and
non-fiction available anywhere. We're proud to have been the first
professional fiction sale for many of our contributors, and we're
passionate about publishing diverse and innovative voices from writers both
new and established. Everything we do, though, depends on the
participation of you, our readers, to keep the magazine running.
In our Spring 2004 Fund Drive, we're hoping to raise $2000, which is
just under fifteen percent of our annual budget. If you donate $25 or
more, you become a Strange Horizons reader-member, which entitles
you to an illustrated collectible membership card and a discount on the
Best of Strange Horizons anthologies. (Larger gift packages are
available at larger donation levels--details below.) We welcome donations
at any amount you feel comfortable with, however, and every single person
who donates to Strange Horizons this month has a chance to win one
of our special prizes. These prizes have all
been donated by Strange Horizons contributors and staff members as a
way of thanking you for your support of our publication.
Donating to Strange Horizons is easy. Just click the link below to
donate through PayPal.
Or send a check or money order to our post office address:

Thank you for your contribution to the exciting, sometimes unnerving,
and always important field of speculative fiction.

While we're proud to be publishing some of the most exciting new voices
in the field, it's important to mention that we're not the only place you
can find these voices. There's been something of an explosion in
small-press and independent publishing in recent years, and we're delighted
to be able to showcase some of these publications in our Small Press
Package.

It was difficult for us to come up with appropriate thank-you gifts
for those of you who help us out by donating at this level; it's such
a good thing you're doing for us, so we want to do something really
good for you in return. At this level, you get everything included in
the Portable Tea Party package, but you also get a hand-knit scarf
made by our Editor-in-Chief. A cozy, attractive, and highly
functional addition to any Strange Horizons member's

to the time required to knit the scarf, the rest of the package will
be sent to you separately, and the scarf might take a while. But it'll
be great once it gets there.)
