Reopening

By Jed Hartman

The SH fiction department has reopened to submissions.

Sorry we were closed for so long. We had a big backlog and we were short-staffed for various reasons. But my colleagues have read an impressive number of stories in the past couple of weeks, and although we're still a little backlogged, we're close enough to caught up that we decided to reopen.

I had previously submitted a story and by mistake submitted a second one just now before receiving a response to the first one. Does that disqualify
my second submission from acceptance? Should I assume it isn't accepted until I recieve a response for the first one and proceed to submit my second one to other publishers?

We've now sent you email letting you know that we've deleted your second submission unread and will continue to consider your first one.

For future reference, the best way to handle any kind of problem with submissions is to email a query to our email address; there's info about how to query on our guidelines page. We may not see comments posted to this blog for a couple of days after they're posted, so it's not the best way to reach us. Not a big deal, just letting you know for next time.
