The Would-Be Gods of Sonofusion

In the Elysian Fields of sonofusion,
in our beakers of hydrogen bubbles
exploding into light and energy
in a nanosecond flash,
we have tapped the heart of the sun.
Like an assembly line
at full bore
we will deliver power
to the touch of the millions.
And once everyone has unlimited fire
in their lives,
we will leave the world
as we know it behind.
Embrace the stubborn dream
of perpetual energy.
Hear the generators
start to hum
with a steadfast beat.
Listen carefully
and you will taste
the whine of the future.
